A two-month cruise circling the Australian Coast is being halted in the wake of the tragic passing of an elderly lady who was stranded by the cruise liner on a isolated island.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the tropical location with other travelers from the Coral Adventurer, but parted ways from the excursion for a pause. The vessel left without her and returned after some time after the crew realised the woman was unaccounted for.

A major search operation found her body the next day.

Officials are looking into the tragedy, in coordination with investigators and the official investigator.

Chief Executive of the shipping company announced that passengers and crew on the ship were told that the continuation of the cruise had been terminated due to the "sad loss and prior technical problems".

Through an announcement, he added that guests would be provided a total repayment, and said the organization was working "to coordinate the travel back of the individuals via chartered flights".

Regulatory bodies also issued an revised statement, and said they had "issued a notice to the Captain" prohibiting any additional guests from entering the vessel.

The official said that they would visit the ship in the port city upon its arrival.

She continued that she hoped the inquiry would be able to identify what "the organization should have undertaken that might have preserved Mum's being".

"Officials suggested her to return, alone. Then the ship departed, apparently without conducting a headcount.

Operator Response

In a statement, the Head confirmed that the operator was "cooperating fully with officials to aid their investigation".

He stated that the company was "extremely apologetic that this has transpired" and had extended its complete assistance to the relatives.

The vessel caters for up to a hundred twenty guests with 46 crew, according to official information. It was specifically designed to enter remote locations of the nation's coastline and is fitted with "auxiliary vessels" - small boats used to take passengers on shore trips.
